Noel & The Red Wedge

Noel and the Red Wedge was a pop-rock band from the ’80s that consisted of female singer Noel (born Patrica A. Noel), guitarist Aseley Otten, drummer Frankie Banali, bassist Ricky Phillips and drummer\singer-songwriter Thom Mooney.

In 1979, Noel released a solo album for Virgin Records called “Is There More to Life Than Dancing?” It’s unknown how or if the album was successful.

Thom Mooney has performed in bands such as Nazz, Paris, Tattoo and the Curtis Bros. Ricky Phillips has performed in bands such as Styx and the Babys. Frankie Banali is well-known for working with the band, Quiet Riot.

The follow-up singles “Stranger” and “She’s a Big Girl Now” did not chart.

After that, it seems as if Noel and the Red Wedge has faded into obscurity. These days, Frankie, Thom and Ricky continue to be active in the music business. As for Aseley and Noel, their whereabouts are unknown.
